Ramona Eakman
MA, LPCC, LMHC
I am fascinated by human behavior and understanding the underlying reasons for what leads people to make the decisions they do, or how they perceive situations. I like exploring the symptoms people experience and how they can relate to other symptoms. I believe that mental health can be a complex thing and there is no “one size fits all” type of treatment.
I utilize a person-centered approach focusing on empathy as well as developing and maintaining a safe environment to work on treatment together. I also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy techniques as I believe our thoughts and beliefs significantly affect our behavior.
I have experience working with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD and other trauma-related disorders, among others. I have worked with relationship concerns, self-esteem, children in foster care, and LGBTQ struggles. I have worked with clients ranging from children to older adults. I have also provided therapy in several different environments.
I welcome clients of any age or disorder. I look forward to working together to build skills and process through struggles to develop a better level of functioning.
