The first step in making an appointment is determining which therapist fits for your needs at this time. By clicking on provider photos and reading their profiles, you can identify what specialty areas they have, as well as what insurance they take. (More on these modalities on our Services page.) All therapists have a private pay rate that they can discuss with you by phone or email if you are not insured.

Our therapists schedule their own clients and sessions because this approach helps to ensure a good fit with your presenting concerns, as well as with other factors such as availability, cost, and compatibility. Once you have selected a therapist that looks right for you, use our intake form to set up a new client appointment.

Your cost for a counseling session depends on your insurer. If you do not have insurance, you can talk with the therapist directly to find out their private pay rate, with an expected range between $135 – $250 per session, depending on the provider and location.

If you have insurance, your insurance company sets its own rates, and each policy tier or plan type has different out-of-pocket costs. The two primary types of insurance are MNsure, coordinated through the County/State and Commercial Insurance, coordinated through your employer (or spouse/parent employer). Contact the member services phone line on the back of your insurance card to check on costs. We do not guarantee that your specific insurance plan covers our services, and you are responsible for any costs not covered by your insurer. We do ask to secure a payment method at the time of initial service and can collect payments in session or offer a secure credit-card-on-file option for ongoing charges.

The mental health professionals at Centered Practice strive to provide timely, convenient, and professional services to our patients. To help achieve this goal, we have Late Arrival, Cancellation, and Return policies.

Late Arrivals: If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, we may reschedule your appointment. We understand that patients sometimes experience unavoidable delays and will do our best to accommodate patients who arrive late. Please call, email or text if you are running late. However, if we feel that a shortened session time is not clinically indicated we will ask you to reschedule your appointment.

“No Show” Appointments: If you do not attend your scheduled appointment without giving us any prior notice, you may be charged a “no show” fee in the amount of $100.00 if you are using commercial insurance or are a self-pay client.

Late Cancellations: If you cancel an appointment less than 24 hours before the appointment, you may be charged a late cancel fee in the amount of $100.00. We will need to evaluate the course of treatment with you if you “no-show” or late cancel three or more appointments.
