I believe strong relationships are fundamental to growth and change. My hope is that therapy can provide a safe container of compassionate and nonjudgmental support so that you can feel seen and heard on both an emotional and spiritual level. I take a strengths-based approach with my clients to set goals for our work together that improve self-awareness and coping skills, resilience for reprocessing past trauma, and a wider range of choice and possibility for moving forward.
I have worked as a licensed clinical social worker first in New Mexico and now in Minnesota with over 15 years of experience as a mental health professional. I completed a Master of Divinity (MDiv.) degree at Harvard Divinity School with a specialization in hospital chaplaincy. I also completed an additional Masters in Social Work (MSW) degree at Boston University School of Social Work with a focus working with older adults and young mothers.
My passion is in birth and death work, finding points of transition incredibly impactful and meaningful. I specialize in attachment concerns, working with pregnant and new mothers, processing grief and loss due to infertility and/or miscarriage, and aging adults/empty nesters. I am bilingual in Spanish and English. I work with diverse populations including college students, Latinx mothers, the LGBTQIA+ community, and neurodivergent people.
If we decide we are a good fit to work together, I will weave my background training in EMDR, CBT, psychodynamic modalities, and mindfulness-based tools, to support your goals for therapy. I work well with clients actively engaged in the therapeutic practice who are willing to take ownership and challenge past beliefs, which may no longer serve the present moment. When I am not working as a therapist, I enjoy teaching yoga, running, going for walks in nature with my dog, and exploring the Twin Cities area with my husband and young daughter.
