Kari Prestemon – MSSW, LICSW

Hello, my name is Kari (Car-eee)! I have been a dedicated therapist and social worker for the past 37 years, working in a variety of settings such as mental health agencies, schools/colleges, and in private practice. I enjoy working with individuals of all ages and have the depth of experience that allows me to meet you where you are at. As a therapist, I see myself as a guide, supporter, and confidant to help with struggles of self-esteem, anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger management, trauma, and life transitions, to name a few.

My philosophy is that life is too short, and for all the bad, there is just as much good. Therapy can help you start to find the good in life by making some necessary changes to foster a more fulfilling and resilient life experience. My approach is eclectic with a primary focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Systems theory.

To me, therapy is about learning new skills and exploring new ways of living. By acknowledging that there is something amiss (or missing!) in your life and seeking help, you’ve already taken the most challenging step. I look forward to embarking on this journey with you!
